24-Hour Collaboration With the expansion of our office in Tokyo, Welocalize Japan has been able to streamline the client review process, acting as a problem-solver and mediator between our customers’ in-country offices and the localization team in the US and Europe. Communication between these two teams can be very tricky and often defeating. Between varying time zones, diverging priorities and ambiguous processes, the in-country review team often receives little notice before translations are sent their way and language queries must be answered through late night or early morning calls. Welocalize Japan works directly with the localization team to determine a review schedule and communicates this in advance to the in-country teams. With prior notice and a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities, the local offices can focus on review of the translation and leave the coordination and management to Welocalize. Similarly, all questions and queries from the in-country reviewers are sent directly to Welocalize Japan to resolve. If further action is needed, Welocalize Japan will interface with the US-based localization team. Apart from simplifying review cycles for our customers’ in-country offices, the most valuable contribution is providing a local contact in Japan that can communicate with the local teams in real time. By keeping everyone involved and collaborating 24 hours a day, all parties are more productive and can create a quality, thoroughly reviewed output. |
